Benefits at the TEL
The TEL is committed to offering a variety of benefit choices to meet the health and financial needs of our employees and their families. The TEL’s benefits program is both comprehensive and competitive. In most cases, all full-time employees are eligible to receive coverage on the first of the month following their hire date.

Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, and Vision)
The TEL offers a choice of health plans, including medical and prescription drug coverage, a choice of dental plans, and a vision plan. All plans offer essential benefits, including preventive and diagnostic services, through a broad network of participating providers.
A Flexible Spending Account or a Health Savings Account is available to help employees save for unreimbursed health care expenses.
Short-Term and Long-Term Disability insurance
The TEL provides company paid short-term and long-term disability coverage to all full-time employees. These plans provide a source of income replacement in the event an employee is disabled from a non-work related illness or injury.
Basic Life & Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
All full-time employees are provided Basic Life and AD&D insurance at no cost to the employee.
Voluntary Life Insurance
In addition to the company-paid life insurance, employees may elect to purchase additional life insurance for themselves and their families through convenient payroll deduction.
Supplemental Insurance
An array of supplemental insurance products, such as Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, and Cancer coverage, is available for employees and their families through a national carrier. These products are offered at group rates through payroll deduction.
Pre-Paid Legal Services and Identity Shield
Employees may elect to purchase membership in a legal assistance and identity theft monitoring and restoration program.
Retirement Plans
The TEL offers a comprehensive retirement plan to help employees save for retirement. Both a 401(a) and a 457(b) plan are offered. The TEL makes a generous contribution to the 401(a) plan and a match to the employee’s 457(b) contribution.
Tuition Assistance
The TEL provides tuition reimbursement for employees to continue their work-related post-secondary degree at approved educational institutions.
Paid Bereavement Leave
Employees are provided up to three days of paid bereavement leave upon the death of immediate family members.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Employees and their immediate family have access to a confidential EAP that provides counseling to address personal, financial, and work-life issues.
Corporate Perks
Many corporate perks are offered to TEL employees, including discounts at local and national retailers, event tickets, car rentals, cellular phone services, wellness providers, etc.
