NASHVILLE - A $1 million Powerball win for a lucky Memphis player Wednesday night is the second time this week for Shelby County players to make Tennessee Lottery news headlines. The Lottery won’t know who won last night’s $1 million until the prize is claimed, but congratulations were handed out yesterday—along with a $380,000 prize—to a Bartlett couple who won Monday night’s Tennessee Cash jackpot.

While Nancy and Don Corzine of Bartlett have yet to decide what they will do first with their Tennessee Cash jackpot winnings, the thrill of the win itself carried the day. “We just can’t believe it!”

Meanwhile, the Powerball jackpot continues to rise and stands at $196 million for Saturday. Other Tennessee Lottery jackpot games include Mega Millions with a $19 million jackpot for Friday; Hot Lotto with a $7.21 million jackpot (all-cash with withholding taxes paid) for Saturday; and the state’s own Tennessee Cash jackpot game, with a $220,000 jackpot for Friday.

About the Tennessee Education Lottery
The Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation operates entirely from the revenue it generates through the sale of its products. Net proceeds from sales of Lottery tickets, currently averaging nearly $6 million per week, fund specific education programs, including college scholarships and after-school programs.

Since the Lottery began selling tickets on Jan. 20, 2004, it has raised more than $2.7 billion for these programs. In addition to the educational beneficiaries, players have won over $6.3 billion in prizes and Lottery retailer partners have earned nearly $684 million in retailer commissions.
