A lucky Tennessee Lottery player who purchased a Mega Millions ticket in Bellevue, Tenn., has won the jackpot of $61 million after the drawing held Friday, Jan. 3. No information is known about the winner until the prize is claimed.
This is the first Mega Millions jackpot winner for Tennessee since it began offering the multi-state drawing-style game in January 2010. Should the winner opt to take the lump-sum payment, the cash value of the $61 million jackpot is $32.1 million. The last multi-state game jackpot winner in Tennessee was a family from South Pittsburgh, who won a Powerball jackpot of $25.5 million in March 2005.
In addition to the incredible Mega Millions news, a lucky Tennessee Cash player who purchased a ticket in Atoka, Tipton County, won that game’s jackpot of $240,000 from the drawing held Friday night.
The Tennessee Lottery encourages all players to sign the back of their ticket immediately after purchase. For more information about Mega Millions, visit For more details about the Tennessee Lottery, visit
