What a win!

Just in time to mark the Lottery’s 11th Anniversary, a lucky Lottery player from East Tennessee stepped forward to present a "Silver Spectacular" winning instant game ticket worth $2 million. It was the 155th winning ticket worth a million dollars or more since the Lottery’s inception on January 20, 2004.

David Stiles, a veteran from Knoxville, arrived yesterday with family members at the Lottery’s Nashville headquarters, bearing the lucky “Silver Spectacular” ticket, one of the Lottery’s newest instant games. As with most winners, Mr. Stiles took time to check and recheck his ticket before surprising his wife with the news. Along with vowing to provide “lots of good things” for his family, Mr. Stiles talked about his love for East Tennessee. “I’ve been all around the world, and this is the most wonderful place I’ve been,” he said. “And now I’m luckier than ever.”
The ticket was purchased at Kroger, 4918 Kingston Pike, in Knoxville.
The Tennessee Education Lottery marked its 11th anniversary of ticket sales on January 20. Since inception, the Lottery has raised more than $3.2 billion for education programs in Tennessee, including college grants and scholarships, after-school programs and most recently, the Tennessee Promise initiative, which will provide two years tuition-free education at a community college or technical school. During the past 11 years, players have won more than $7.9 billion in prizes and Lottery retailer partners have earned over $822 million in commissions.
