NASHVILLE - Tennessee’s Powerball game on Saturday, Sept. 4 produced 30,920 winners who purchased tickets from retailers in the state. By selecting the Power Play option, 5,986 players multiplied their winnings by two.
The Powerball jackpot for the next drawing on Wednesday, Sept. 8 is estimated at $54 million. Powerball drawings are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. CST (10:59 p.m. EST). The Lotto 5 jackpot for the next drawing on Monday, Sept. 6 will contain the rollover amount of $68,403 and will continue to grow with ticket sales. Lotto 5 Drawings are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights and can be seen at 10:34 p.m. CST on the Lottery’s television network partners throughout the state.
The Tennessee Lottery began selling its first instant tickets on Jan. 20, 2004. At the end of its first fiscal year, after just five months and 12 days of ticket sales, the Lottery had raised more than $123 million for education. All Tennessee Lottery profits will go to pay for specific education programs in the state, which initially include the HOPE Scholarship program.
Tennessee’s Lotto 5 game on Friday, Sept. 3 produced 1,889 winners. Since there was no jackpot winner, $68,403 will rollover to the next Lotto 5 drawing on Monday, Sept. 6.
