NASHVILLE - The winning ticket for Friday’ night’s Lotto 5 jackpot of $65,776 was sold in Decatur County in West Tennessee. In addition to the jackpot winner, another 66 players matched 4 of 5 numbers to win $171 each, while 2,309 players matched 3 of 5 numbers to win $8 each.
The drawing for Tennessee’s Powerball game on Saturday produced 34,474 winners who purchased tickets from retailers in the state. The Tennessee Lottery began selling its first instant tickets on Jan. 20, 2004. At the end of its first fiscal year, after just five months and 12 days of ticket sales, the Lottery had raised more than $123 million for education. All Tennessee Lottery profits will go to pay for specific education programs in the state, which initially include the HOPE Scholarship program.
