NASHVILLE - Two lottery tickets purchased in Tennessee matched five numbers in Saturday night’s Powerball drawing, one of which was played with the Power Play option—tripling the $100,000 to $300,000 for one winner who bought their ticket in Memphis. A second $100,000 ticket was purchased in Roan Mountain.
Meanwhile, one winning ticket purchased in Delaware matched all numbers including the Powerball to win the prize of $214.7 million.

Tennessee’s Powerball game produced 93,775 winners who purchased tickets from retailers in the state. By selecting the Power Play option, 13,360 players multiplied their winnings by three.

The Powerball jackpot for the next drawing on Wednesday, Oct. 13 is estimated at $10 million. Powerball drawings are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. CST (10:59 p.m. EST). The Tennessee Lottery began selling its first instant tickets on Jan. 20, 2004. At the end of its first fiscal year, after just five months and 12 days of ticket sales, the Lottery had raised more than $123 million for education. All Tennessee Lottery profits will go to pay for specific education programs in the state, which initially include the HOPE Scholarship program.
