LOTTO 5 AND POWERBALL PRODUCE MORE THAN 27,000 TN WINNERS COMBINED; Both Jackpots Continue to Grow

NASHVILLE - Wednesday’s Lotto 5 drawing produced 1,642 winners throughout the state. Since there was no jackpot winner, $188,161 will rollover to Friday’s drawing.

Tennessee’s Powerball game on Wednesday produced 25,824 winners who purchased tickets from retailers in the state. By selecting the Power Play option, 4,903 players multiplied their winnings by four.

The Lotto 5 jackpot for the next drawing on Friday, Oct. 15 will contain the rollover amount of $188,161 and will continue to grow with ticket sales. Lotto 5 Drawings are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights at 10:34 p.m. CST and can be seen on the Lottery’s television network partners throughout the state.

The Powerball jackpot for the next drawing on Saturday, Oct. 16 is estimated at $15 million. Powerball drawings are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. CST (10:59 p.m. EST). Watch for drawings at 10 p.m. CST (11 p.m. EST) on official Tennessee Lottery television stations throughout Tennessee. For more details about Powerball, visit www.powerball.com .

The Tennessee Lottery began selling its first instant tickets on Jan. 20, 2004. At the end of its first fiscal year, after just five months and 12 days of ticket sales, the Lottery had raised more than $123 million for education. All Tennessee Lottery profits will go to pay for specific education programs in the state, which initially include the HOPE Scholarship program.
