$765,000 LOTTO 5 WINNING TICKET SOLD IN GREENEVILLE

A player who purchased a Lotto 5 ticket in Greeneville (Greene County) now holds the record as the largest Lotto 5 winner to date. Monday night’s Lotto 5 jackpot soared past the previous record of $670,823 by reaching $765,923. This jackpot run began on January 5, and continued to climb through 12 consecutive draws. As of Tuesday afternoon, the ticket holder had not yet claimed the prize.

The Lotto 5 jackpot for the next drawing on Wednesday, Feb. 2 is estimated at $40,000. Lotto 5 Drawings take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights at 10:34 p.m. CST and can be seen on the Lottery’s television network partners throughout the state.


The Tennessee Lottery began selling its first instant tickets on January 20, 2004. Proceeds as of December 31, 2004 have resulted in transfers to the Lottery for Education Account of $231.2 million, in addition to more than $2 million for after-school programs. All Lottery profits will go to pay for specific education programs in Tennessee, which initially include HOPE Scholarships.
