NASHVILLE - For the first time, Monday night’s Lotto 5 game produced two jackpot winners who will share the $497,318 grand prize. The two tickets, each worth $248,659, were purchased in Knoxville and East Ridge (Hamilton county). In addition to the two jackpot winners, Monday night’s drawing produced another 2,557 winners, including 69 players who won $217 each and 2,488 players who won $9 each.
The Lotto 5 jackpot for the next drawing on Wednesday, April 6 is estimated at $40,000. Lotto 5 Drawings are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights at 10:34 p.m. CST and can be seen on the Lottery’s television network partners throughout the state. The Tennessee Lottery began selling its first instant tickets on January 20, 2004. Proceeds as of December 31, 2004 have resulted in transfers to the Lottery for Education Account of $231.2 million, in addition to more than $2 million for after-school programs. All Lottery profits will go to pay for specific education programs in Tennessee, which initially include HOPE Scholarships.
