NASHVILLE - As the spotlight shines bright on the mega-mega jackpots for Mega Millions and Powerball—now at $508 million and $288 million respectively—each drawing creates thousands of winners regardless of whether the jackpot is won.
Just take a look at last night’s Powerball drawing, which created 23,285 winning Powerball tickets of various prize levels in Tennessee, including one worth $150,000 purchased in Clarksville. That player's ticket matched four of the five white ball numbers drawn plus the red Powerball number. Additionally, for an extra dollar, this lucky player added the Power Play option, which multiplies seven of the nine Powerball prize levels by a multiplier number drawn just before each drawing. Since last night's multiplier was 3, the set prize level of $50,000 became $150,000--for just an extra dollar.
