Easy to see why Jumbo Bucks instant game is “one of her favorites”

NASHVILLE--Three years and four days after collecting her first $50,000 from the Tennessee Lottery, Shirley Martin of Camden appeared in Nashville again to collect her second $50,000 prize.

“I knew I’d win again!” said Shirley, who arrived with a group of excited friends and the retail clerk who sold her the winning ticket. “When I started seeing all of those zeroes (on the ticket), I yelled and screamed and yelled some more!”

Shirley purchased her winning ticket at the Texaco Food Mart, 151 Hwy. 641 North, in Camden, where Kenny Patel works. Kenny accompanied Shirley to the Lottery’s headquarters, along with two other friends who are “scratching buddies.” The first ticket was purchased at the Broadstreet Tiger Mart in Bruceton.

Shirley has no immediate plans for her winnings, other than to share the excitement of the day with friends.

The Tennessee Lottery began selling its first tickets on January 20, 2004. As of December 31, 2006, the Lottery has raised more than $763 million to fund specific education programs, including college scholarships, pre-kindergarten and after-school programs.
