NASHVILLE - The race is on! Car racing fans and lottery players are revving their engines in anticipation of NASCAR®, the Tennessee Lottery’s newest instant ticket game, which offers instant prizes of up to $20,000 and a chance to win one of three trips to a NASCAR® race.

“A trip to a favorite NASCAR® track is a dream for many that will come true for three lucky players,” said Rebecca Paul Hargrove, President and CEO of the Tennessee Lottery. “The NASCAR® ticket is just another way to keep players excited about the games and raising dollars for education.”

The NASCAR® instant ticket game is available this week at more than 4,700 retailers across the state. Each $2 ticket features one of five drivers, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth or Kasey Kahne. Every non-winning ticket is eligible to be entered into a series of three second-chance drawings. Each drawing will award one Player’s Choice Racing Trip to a NASCAR® sanctioned race for the 2007 or 2008 season. The trip consists of a four-day, three night trip for two, including airfare, hotel, race tickets, two NASCAR® prize packages and $500 cash.

Each drawing will also select 159 Grand Prize Finalists who will receive a NASCAR® Licensed Prize Package. Players can choose from the same five drivers for the theme of their prize package. At the conclusion of these drawings, a final Grand Prize Drawing will be held among all Grand Prize Finalists to award $20,000. Visit for additional details.

The Tennessee Lottery began selling its first tickets on January 20, 2004. As of December 31, 2006, the Lottery has raised more than $763 million to fund specific education programs, including college scholarships, pre-kindergarten and after-school programs.
