Rowena and daughter Danielle celebrate the big win with TEL President Rebecca Hargrove!

Rowena McIntyre couldn’t contain her tears of joy when she arrived at the Lottery’s headquarters to claim her $1 million win. “It’s surreal,” said the Martin resident. “This just gives me peace of mind…you have no idea.”
Rowena, who works at a senior center and eagerly talks about her children and grandchildren, won the $1 million by matching all five white numbers from Saturday’s Powerball drawing and using the Power Play. She purchased her ticket from University Exxon in Martin.
About the Tennessee Education Lottery
The Tennessee Education Lottery operates entirely from the revenue it generates through the sale of its products. Net proceeds from sales of Lottery tickets, currently averaging over $5 million per week, fund specific education programs, including college scholarships, pre-kindergarten and after-school programs. Since the Tennessee Lottery began selling tickets on Jan. 20, 2004, it has raised more than $1.5 billion for these programs, and returned nearly $3.4 billion in prizes and more than $375 million in retailer commissions.
