NASHVILLE—The jackpot for tonight’s gargantuan Mega Millions drawing has been raised from $654 million to a record-shattering $667 million, sending jackpot fever even higher throughout the state and beyond.  

The Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation announced today its first-quarter transfer to education of more than $98 million, bringing the total raised since inception to more than $4.7 billion. Total sales and total proceeds for education for the period of July 1, 2018, through Sept. 30, 2018, were the second highest for this period since the Lottery began on Jan. 20, 2004.

NASHVILLE—Jackpots are soaring and thousands are winning, including lucky Powerball players in Mt. Juliet and Memphis, who won $150,000 and $50,000 respectively from last night’s drawing. The jackpot for Powerball has grown to $345 million, while Mega Millions stands at a staggering $654 million for the drawing on Tuesday.

NASHVILLE—Six lucky Tennessee Lottery players have won $1 million or more each during just a week's time. 

The latest is a Mega Millions player in Eads (Shelby County) who won $1 million on Friday night by matching five of six numbers drawn. That as-yet-unknown millionaire holds the 245th ticket sold by the Lottery worth $1 million or more since its inception in January 2004.

Two Tennessee Lottery players matched five numbers drawn in both the Powerball and Lotto America drawings last night. The first, a Powerball player in Tullahoma, won $100,000 by matching four of the five white numbers drawn plus the red Powerball. Since the winner added the Power Play option for an extra dollar, the base prize of $50,000 was doubled, as the multiplier number was two.

NASHVILLE—A Millington man who won $2 million playing Powerball last weekend said his father told him to play.

“He told me to play and dream big,” said Donald Coffman, who claimed the mega-prize on Monday at the Tennessee Lottery’s Nashville headquarters with his wife, Joanna. “So I did!”

The Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation (TEL) has closed its Fiscal Year with an all-time high for sales and proceeds for education. With record gross total sales for the year of $1.73 billion, the TEL will return an all-time high of $421.7 million for all education programs funded by the Lottery, which exceeds the prior year education funding by 9.1 percent.

All told, the Lottery has generated more than $4.6 billion for education in the state since its inception on Jan. 20, 2004.

A lucky Tennessee Cash player in Jonesborough in Washington County won the $718,368 jackpot Friday night. And a Corryton, Knox County Powerball player won $50,000 Saturday night by matching four of the five white numbers drawn plus the red Powerball.

Congrats to a lucky Tennessee Lottery Powerball player in Germantown, who won $150,000 from the drawing held July 7, 2018, by matching four of the white ball numbers drawn plus the Powerball.

This very lucky Camden winner smiled “till her face cracked” after winning the Cash 4 Life jackpot of $1,000 a day for life on June 21, 2018. Who can blame her? After getting numbers from a quick pick Cash 4 Life play a couple years ago, she kept playing those same numbers because they had special meaning. The winning ticket was purchased at Pockets on Hwy. 641.

Mark Davis arrived bright and early today at the Tennessee Lottery’s Knoxville claim office to collect the $100,000 prize he won last night playing Powerball. The Knoxville plumber was one of two lucky winners who won $100,000 each by matching four of the five white ball numbers drawn plus the red Powerball.
